That time went I went to Kenya in 4 days…

I have an announcement to make.
This Friday, in 4 days,
I’ve been holding this in for a while. I didn’t want to announce it until I had final confirmation, because I didn’t want to get yours, and my, excitement up. But now that I have the flight confirmation, I feel it is safe to tell everyone:
I’m going to Kenya!
I’ll visit Nairobi, Maasai Mara, the island of Lamu, and more. There may even be some “glamping” involved. I can’t wait to get some great photos, eat some awesome new foods, and meet some really cool people.
And I am proud to be representing BootnAll on this trip. After working on the 30 Days of Indie Travel Art Project and #Indie30 Twitter chats with BootnAll, they received a request to attend a press trip from Kenya Tourism. Then they asked me if I would be interested going as their representative.
So you know I jumped at that!
This Friday (in 4 days), I am starting 36 hours of traveling to get to Nairobi. I’m going to be EXHAUSTED when I arrive (or at least in desperate need of a shower). But this is going to be amazing!
I will try to throw some updates on social media, and maybe even get a post up from Kenya (depending on internet availability and if I need a nap).
And I’d like to give a special thanks to Alyson, from the Kenya Tourism Board, who has been my liaison for this trip. She has been insanely busy behind the scenes wrangling all the pieces of this press trip together to make it happen. Thank you Alyson for all your hard work. I can’t wait to photograph and write about Kenya!
About Dani Blanchette
I am a freelance travel and music photographer and creator of GoingNomadic.com.
I love music, food, and exploring cities without guidebooks. I’ve flown a helicopter, hitchhiked down the east coast USA, and once snuck into the back of a zoo (in Serbia) and pet a lion.
I am always up for an adventure, and sometimes I videotape them.
