This thinking man is just one of the rusted statues you can find in the San Pedro Claver Plaza, in the historic walled city of Cartagena. In front of the large San Pedro Claver church sits a selection of metallic statues, depicting parts of the life of native Cartagenians. These statues seem to move around (as when I research other photos of them, I find this same statue with various backdrops).
They depict everything from playing poker, listening to music, sewing, and carrying baskets on top of your head. This plaza, and these statues are definitely a must visit when exploring Cartagena’s historic walled city.

About Dani Blanchette
I am a freelance travel and music photographer and creator of GoingNomadic.com.
I love music, food, and exploring cities without guidebooks. I’ve flown a helicopter, hitchhiked down the east coast USA, and once snuck into the back of a zoo (in Serbia) and pet a lion.
I am always up for an adventure, and sometimes I videotape them.
