Top 5 Fantasy Trips

Ok.  I’m finally creating a “Top #” list.

These are the trips I would love to take if I were independently wealthy.

5. “STAN COUNTRIES”central_asia_political

I would love to take a year and travel around the “STAN” countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and yes, Afghanistan and Pakistan.  It would be wonderful to be able to travel these countries and photograph what makes each country unique and what ties this central Asian area together culturally.

4. Circumvent Africa/South Americajeep africa

I would absolutely love to travel the perimeters of Africa and South America.  Especially Africa in a 1970′s Safari Jeep. If danger and money were no object, Africa would be an amazing country to travel by Jeep.

However, now that I’m starting in South America, I will at least be able to visit many South American countries; even if driving the perimeter is still out of reach.

3. Live in the Colombian Rebel camps/Visit the Brazilian Favelasfavelas

So this I will do.  At least the latter.  Yes, why the hell would anyone want to get kidnapped in Colombia or visit the Brazilian favelas – one of the most dangerous places in the world?

Because I’m an idiot ; and very, very curious to want to understand/relate ‘their’ side of the story.  I just like to know the ‘other’ side. I’m quite aware that Americans are only told one side, and there is always 2 sides to every story.  I want to know firsthand accounts what it is like to grow up and live in these places and see if it causes people to feel/think any differently than people in more ‘westernly acceptable’ places

But since I’m going to South America – I will visit the favelas.  I don’t care what you say. I’m going to do it. So you can save your breath on the dangers. I’m stubborn and this is something I’ve been saying for years I will do one day.  Now I’m going to.

2. Maine to England by Island Hopping ship sailing

I want to start in Maine and hop boats and fishing vessels around the islands until I reach England.

Maine- Nova Scotia-Labrador- Newfoundland-Greenland- Iceland-Ireland- England.   I can tie knots, I can cook, I can do this (or do it in reverse.)

Either way it would be really cool to see if I’m good enough at talking my way onto boats and jumping island to island across the Northern Atlantic.

1. ROUTE 66

Route66Road

This is probably the easiest trip to do and I have never done it.  I want to take month or more to travel old Route 66.  I want to be able to hit all the little side areas off Route 66 too.

Meteor crater – lets go,

A crystal cave-side trip,

Another crystal cavern – hell yes, we’re going.

I absolutely love old Americana stuff and it would be the best to travel this in an old 70′s convertible muscle car!  This is probably my number 1 trip i want to do, yet i have never been able to afford to do it, and i have decided to travel outside of America this time instead of doing this trip in the states.

Of course, i need the 70′s convertible first…
