I love music, and this past November, I once again was able to attend the Altavoz Festival in Medellin, Colombia.
Altavoz Festival is an annual 3 day, free, music festival held each fall in Medellin, Colombia. It features a variety of music styles, including metal bands, and some of the bands are amazing! Koyi K Utho is one of these bands.
Besides playing in-your-face, clearly talent filled metal music, these guys know how to work a crowd. Between their monochromatic, futuristic-decay costuming and high-energy stage presence, they also pulled out a few tricks…like playing metal grinders.
This photo captures the sparkling performance that turned the crowd wild (along with the photographer pit). I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a few sparks land on me during this set. But as we all know, I don’t shy away from possibly ruining my camera if it means I can get a photo like this.
Featured Friday Photo is a new segment to GoingNomadic. Each week I will feature one travel or music photo which I will then put on a special sale price for the featured week only. The featured photo will change each week, so remember to sign up for the GoingNomadic mailing list to get weekly email reminders and not miss your chance to get a super cheap photograph!
Cheers!
About Dani Blanchette
I am a freelance travel and music photographer and creator of GoingNomadic.com.
I love music, food, and exploring cities without guidebooks. I’ve flown a helicopter, hitchhiked down the east coast USA, and once snuck into the back of a zoo (in Serbia) and pet a lion.
I am always up for an adventure, and sometimes I videotape them.
