Museo del Oro–The Gold Museum Bogota, Colombia
by Danib in Colombia, Going Nomadic, Recomendations/Reviews, South America
The gold Museum of Bogota houses the world’s largest collection of Pre-Hispanic gold in the world.
They also had a couple really unique archeological pieces.
Like this antique dildo
And a real mummy (this is SOOOO cool)
The gold museum is a pretty cool place. Especially if you like shiny objects or museums. I don’t want people to think it is pointless, I am just not a fan of museums. But I was a fan of the locks on this door, and almost got kicked out for photographing it
(this is the inside of a security door in the museum, sort of the equivalent of photographing the locks on a bank vault.)
But they let me keep the photos as I scowled, and loudly pretended that the photo wouldn’t come out. I was, however, watched VERY closely after that.
