So I am trying to remember to photograph the forgot to photograph the food I am eating. How is it working so far?
Well,
I totally forgot to photograph the very first arepas I had for breakfast. Just let me tell you they were muy sobrosa (very delicious). Arepas are little round, fried, corn flour thing-ys you slice in half and stuff with butter, ham, and cheese inside. (Or whatever fillings you want. On Margarita Island I had one stuffed with egg and a hotdog-sausage type of pork pieces. )
Add some Colombian hot chocolate and melon juice and its heaven in your mouth. And when I say melon juice, I mean they put the melons in the juicer and gave me a glass of the deliciousness that came out. I don’t even like melons in the States, and this juice was so delicious I didn’t realize it was melons until I was told.
OH HOW IVE MISSED FRESH FRUIT!
I did however get photos of the frozen coffee and dinner I ate. Well, I got half photos. And by that I mean, I ate half the food before I remembered to photograph it. But I still remembered. So I am doing better than I was this morning!
I ate steak for my first time in 6 years (last time was in Sarajevo),before Sarajevo I haven’t eaten red meat (beef) in 10 years or more.
Did it bother me?
Not at all! And , I actually liked the taste of this steak here!. The meat tastes fresher, not with some weird bitter aftertaste like it does back home. (ok, the first steak I liked. A couple days later it tasted more like it dies in the states and I did not really eat much. Still not a huge red meat fan.)
Venezuelan food is pretty good (well the homemade stuff I’m being fed is).
And tomorrow I get to start my ‘EMPANADAS ACROSS SOUTH AMERICA’ research!
MMMMM EMPANADAS
I’m seriously going to gain 600lbs while I’m here.
But for someone who cant eat milk, cheese, icecream, or beef/cow products at all back home…I can eat whatever I want so far in South America.
I’m convinced it has to do something with the fact that they don’t feed their cows all the same hormones and chemicals and crap we have to ; by law, feed our cows in the States. My body seems to have no problemo digesting stuff in Venezuela. Even eating beef didn’t bother me a bit (i really expected it to, since I never ever eat it).
Once again, I leave America, and I can eat whatever I want with no problem. Maybe you should stop feeding your cows so much crap America and people would be healthier.
Just a thought.
Although I would weigh 600lbs from eating icecream everyday if I could eat it in the States. By the way, which I AM doing so far. Icecream for breakfast?, why thank you! All I have to say is those Magnum brand icecreams really are delicious. I would photograph them, but since we have them in the states you can just go to a store and buy them yourself. They melt fast here. I’m not wasting a good icecream on you people.
Sorry.
