Travel Photos – Day 25 of the #Indie30
Today on the 30 Days of Indie Travel Art Project, BootsnAll asked to see my travel photos. With today also being my Featured Friday Photo post, i thought this quite fitting, and am posting 2 posts. (I already posted the Featured Friday Photo post so go check it out).
So what photos was I asked to post?
1. A Favourite Photo
One of my favourite photos is the one I took of the 3 Warao boys while on a tour in the Orinoco Delta. Although the tour itself was absolutely horrible, the photos I got were awesome. These 3 boys came out of the water to let me photograph them, while the parents (and the boys) were all surprised at this gringa who had no problem kicking off her boots, and walking the tree-trunk walkways in barefeet to get down to the water’s edge (obviously, they had never encountered a white, female, high-steel rigger before).
2. My best/worst/funniest selfie.
I think every selfie I take encompasses all three of these at once. I love taking ridiculous photos of myself. Why? Because I’m awesome. This is a great selfie photo of Diego And I carving Jack’o’lanterns last Halloween. It’s a thing with us because the first time we hung out at his place I taught him how to carve Jack’o’lanterns, and now it’s our thing. Even though we compete on who has the best carving, then on who has the best rotting pumpkin. (Yes, we let the pumpkins sit for a week then decide whose rotted into the nest faces.) We are awesome, fancy peeps.
3. A Photo From Out An Airplane Window
We all do it. We know we do. So BootsnAll wanted us to show it. This is a photo, out the window, during sunset. I was trying to capture the beautiful colors and the JetBlue logo in the photo. Because I love JetBlue and fly them all the time.
4. A Food-Porn Photo
Oh I am SO one of those people that Instagrams my food (and no, I am not apologizing for it). I have a ton of food photos, and even a food video. But this photo, of an ice cream sundae from a little shop in El Tigre de Antioquia (a tiny town about 3 hours drive from Medellin), has been, hands-down, my most re-pinned photo on Pinterest. I guess others love ice cream as much as me.
5. A Funny Photo
I love photographing things that amuse me. They may not be the best photos, but they always make me laugh when I see them. So what could be funnier than a bunch of dirty, raunchy clowns at the Toronto Festival of Clowns? NOTHING! Hope you don’t have Coulrophobia!
About Dani Blanchette
I am a freelance travel and music photographer and creator of GoingNomadic.com.
I love music, food, and exploring cities without guidebooks. I’ve flown a helicopter, hitchhiked down the east coast USA, and once snuck into the back of a zoo (in Serbia) and pet a lion.
I am always up for an adventure, and sometimes I videotape them.
