So I have been toying around with changing around the way I blog for 2014. You may have already noticed the new blog header (Thanks to my talented sister, Heather, who is the creator of the homesteading blog Like A Cup of Tea).
For 2014, I wanted to show off more photography, as well as do something about all the books I read (because travelers are notorious readers. Besides the fact that reading improves our writing, reading also keeps us stay sane during long layovers and bus rides).
So after some thought into how best to do this, I have decided to install 2 new segments to Going Nomadic.
1. Hump-Day Book Reviews.
I usually can go through a book a week (or less). I own a Kindle, so reading is easy and fun and I can read multiple books at a time. I love memoirs, non-fiction, and sci-fi. I also read a lot of business books (because why wouldn’t I want to get better at what I do). I am going to review any book I read on this blog. I won’t give away information, or ruin the story. I promise. But I will give you a short summary of the book, my thoughts on it, and if I recommend it. I will also take book requests (have a book you think I’ll love? Let me know) and will allow some guest posting for this segment.
2. Featured Friday Photo.
We all know i take a lot of photos, but few know I also have a photography website (http://LaGringaPhotos.com) and I sell photos on that site, along with using it as a portfolio. So now, each Friday, I am going to featured a photo of music or travel (or music I encountered while traveling). Then I will sell that photo super cheap on my website for the week. I will offer a few different size prints, a few fancy style prints, and the ability to digitally download the photo (for personal use) for $3. Yea, $3! Because the prints will not ship worldwide (or are insanely expensive to do so), and I want the photos to be available to all of you in places like South America. So if you live anywhere prints won’t ship, you can download the photo for $3 and print it out locally.
Each Friday a new photo will be featured and put on sale, and last week’s photo goes back to regular price. So you will have to watch each Friday for the new photo and snatch it up while it’s on sale.
I also have more travel videos on their way and lots of photos I haven’t shown off yet. So welcome to 2014 GoingNomadic.

About Dani Blanchette
I am a freelance travel and music photographer and creator of GoingNomadic.com.
I love music, food, and exploring cities without guidebooks. I’ve flown a helicopter, hitchhiked down the east coast USA, and once snuck into the back of a zoo (in Serbia) and pet a lion.
I am always up for an adventure, and sometimes I videotape them.
